Weiqiland manuscripts about the game Go
(resume)
The time has come to please fans of Weiqi (Go), with the advent of our first weiqilogic book. During the winter solstice of 21.12.2009 on "Weiqiland manuscripts about the game Go" and went out of print, since its very beginning, the book became a bibliographic rarity because of its modest print run of 100 copies. But this is the first edition as it is noted. The book is a volume of 72 pages as they are disciples of Confucius, or as they are the intersections along the edges of the Go board. Foreword contains 11 articles and an epilogue. The materials have we selected are from Chinese subjects.
In the collection there are featured articles on the history and philosophy of the ancient game of Go, also known by its Chinese name Weiqi and Korean Baduk. The original idea was to issue manual, but consider that such information is sufficient on the Internet, and we are issuing similar manual ( "How to play Go?", 2005). Understanding of the game would be much better if you practice and study except for positions, paying attention to its history. Ancient people were not only left with manuals and diagrams, and philosophical generalizations are made or have written poems.
Given these considerations, we decided to write this volume articles, thanks to which the reader has the opportunity to become familiar with Chinese philosophy and its intersections with the game Go, which we refer by the term Weiqilogy. This construct contain two roots. The first is Weiqi (a game of encirclement) or the Chinese name of the game Go and Logos, which in ancient greek this means 'science' the same, i.e. Weiqilogy is science for the game Weiqi.
In the collection the reader is able to examine in chronological order with some philosophers and thinkers from the era of Chinese history - Eastern Zhou (722-256 BC), Han (206 BC -- AD 220 AD), Tang (618-907 AD) and Song (960-1279 AD). Game Go in Ancient China was an exercise of inherent mandarins - the intellectuals and scientists. From the Golden Age of Chinese Philosophy (Eastern Zhou) are Confucius, Mencius and Mozi. Han era is represented by Ma Yun, Tang era - from the emperor Li Shimin and poet Lu Guimeng and ends with a thinker Huan Tinjiang from Song.
The book takes the reader into an imaginary party and introduced him to some of its people - philosophers, strategists, scientists, poets and others. But how is called this country? Naturally, her name came up and - this is Weiqiland or Country of the game Go. To familiarize it is known that the Weiqiland idea in Bulgarian Go be successful, consistent and thought over the past three years. And they reflect a romanticism and respect for the old use the word "manuscript", These are manuscripts, such as all copyright texts originally, which is also a manifestation of Weiqiland style and humor. This construct and the title of the collection "Weiqiland manuscripts about the game Go".
The book is intended not only for those who wish to become players on Go or play to play Go as a hobby, but also for the fans and researchers of the East, for those interested in philosophy for upper school pupils and students. Copies of the book were sent to the library collections of the country, the most important of which are Svishtov, Veliko Tarnovo, Ruse, Varna, Plovdiv, Sofia National Library, Sofia University Library, Library of Sciences and others.
Thanks for making the realization of the book by M. Bogdanova Municipality of Svishtov, Unit Education and P. Petrov, Director of Business Center – Svishtov.
