Това е обичайната терминология на Го, чрез японските термини (дадени на English). Има и преведени на български.

A
atari: - a move which occupies the last liberty but one of an enemy stone, thus threatening to capture it. ate same as atari.
aki-sankaku: - empty triangle (model bad shape).
atsui(atsumi): - thick, strong.
aji: — after-taste; a stone (or stones) has aji, if, though already lost it continues to be a source of annoyance. (potential).
amari-gatachi: — loose but resilient shape.



B
bootsugi: — a three stone wall
boshi: - a capping move.



C
chuban: — the middle stage of the game.


D
dame: — a common point between any Black and White positions which has no territorial value, thus making no difference who fills it.
stones more vulnerable to capture.
dango: — a formless and solid shape (literally: a `dumpling' shape)
degiri: - pushing through and cutting

damezumari: - shortage of liberties.
de : - a move which pushes between two enemy stones.

furikawari: - trade, swap
fuseki: - the opening stage of the game, taking the whole board into consideration.



G
gote: - to play last in a local encounter; the opposite of sente.

gaisei: - outward influence.
gukei: - bad shape.
guzumi: - empty triangle (the term used when it is an effective
move despite being bad shape).
geta: — a tactic used for capture, made by jumping ahead of the stone(s).




H
hasamitsuke: - clamp.
hiraki: - extension.
hane: - a diagonal move played in contact with an enemy stone.
hamete: — a play which may be unsound but involves a trick.
hane: — a diagonal move played next to the enemy's stone.
hane-kaeshi: — a counter hane.
hane-komi: — a hane between two enemy stones.
hane-dashi: — an outer hane .
hasami: — a pincer attack.

ikken hasami: — one point pincer attack.
ikken takahasami: — a one point high pincer attack.
niken hasami: — two point pincer attack.
niken takahasami: — two point high pincer attack.
sangen hasami: — a three point pincer attack.

hikuri-kaeshi: — a sequence which reverses itself.
hazama: — two stones on a diagonal separated by one point.
hazama-tobi: — a one point diagonal jump.
hiki: — to draw back.
hiraki: — an extension.
Honinbo Sen: — the second most important annual Go title match in Japan.
hoshi: — any of the nine points on the board marked by a dot.





J
joseki: - a formalized series of moves usually restricted to the corner.
jingasa: — a foolish shape consisting four stones in a solid pyramid.
Judan Sen: — the "10th. dan" series, one of the top three yearly title matches in Japan.



K
kaketsugi: - an open connectiona . diagonal connection .
katatsugi: - a solid connection. a shoulder attack.
kakari: - an approach move against a corner stone(attack on a single corner stone).

ikken takagakari: — a one point high attack.
kogeima kakari: — a small knight's attack.
ogeima kakari: — a large knight's attack.


kake: - an attacking move played diagonally above the enemy's stones,a pressing move.
karami: - a splitting attack; a move which attacks two groups simultaneously.
karui: - light, i.e. stones with a light, flexible shape which can
easily be looked after of stones which have served their
purpose and can be discarded.
kado: — angular.
kata: — a shoulder move.
keima the relationship between two stones which is the same as a knight’s move
in chess.
keshi: — a move played to diminish the enemy's area.
kikashi: - a forcing move which requires an answer.
kiri: — cut.
kiri nobi: — to cut and extend .
kogeima: - small knight's move.
komoku: - the 3-4 point.
ko — a repetitive situation, where Black and White have one stone in ate alternately,
and in which following a capture by one player the opponent is
not permitted to recapture until he has made a move elsewhere on the
board.
ko-aji: — small scale Go.
kogeima: — the small knight shape .
komi: — a point handicap which Black gives to White to compensate him for
having moved second.
komoku: — a three-four point on the board.
kosumi: - a diagonal move. kosumi-tsuke — a diagonal-touching move.
kyusho: - the vital point.



N
nobi: - extending one stone along a line.
nozoki: - a peeping move which threatens to cut.



M
mane-go: - mimic-go.
magari: - a tuming move.
miai: - points of exchange of approximately equal value - if the
opponent takes one, one can always (and often must) take
the other.
mokuhazushi: - the 5-3 point.
moyo: - a territorial framework - potential, not actual territory.
Meijin Sen: — an annual championship, the most important in the Go world.
modori: — to fall back.
mokuhadzushi: — a three-five point, at a diagonal from hoshi.




O
ogeima: - a large knight’s shape.
osae: - a blocking move which prevents the enemy from extending along a line.
oshi: - to push along a line on top of a line of enemy stones.



S
sagari: - to descend straight down toward the edge of the board.
sente : - to have the right to choose where to play next; opposite of gote.
shibori: - squeezing.
shicho: - a capturing sequence resembling a staircase.
shimari: - a two stone corner enclosure.
sabaki: - settling a group by getting a flexible and resilient shape.
semeai: - a capturing race or fight to the death between two groups.
shinogi: - saving a group under attack.


T
tenuki: - to play elsewhere, ignoring the opponent’s last move.
tsugi: - a connection.
tsuke : - an attaching move.
takamoku: - the 5-4 point
tsume — to extend and block or prevent the opponent from extending


Y , U , W

yose-ko: - an approach-move ko (one side has to fill in a liberty or
liberties before it's a direct ko for him).

uchikomi: - an invasion.

wariuchi - a wedging move which has room for expansion in either direction

(При будизма: отрязък от време, по-малък единствено от вечността. При "уей ки": точката, в която противниците постигат абсолютно равенство)

"Уей ки" е по-рядко използвана транскрипция на Weiqi, която дума ние обикновено пишем като "Вейци".
